Vanavil operates 19 Afterschool Learning Centres in Nomadic Hamlets across Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, and Thiruvarur districts, where we reach out to over 1180 children every day.
These centres provide a vital learning space where children are welcomed with a nutritious snack before engaging in focused academic support. We place special emphasis on English and Math, which are often subjects students struggle with in mainstream schooling.
We also track each child’s school attendance closely. If a child begins to miss school or is at risk of dropping out or entering child labor, we intervene quickly and work to reintegrate them into the education system. Our efforts extend beyond academics — we organize competitions, sports events, and art camps to build self-confidence and social skills.
For students in 10th and 12th grades, we provide tailored career counselling and guidance on choosing the right path in higher education or vocational training, helping them take confident steps toward a brighter future.
