About Program

While access to primary education remains limited for Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Nomadic Tribe (NT) communities, their representation in higher education is even scarcer. Recognizing this gap, Vanavil has created a structured support system to help students overcome the barriers that often prevent them from pursuing college.

Our Nomad Higher Education Scholarship Program supports students from our SchoolChildren’s Home, and Afterschool Programs with career counsellingcollege admission assistance, and a comprehensive scholarship that covers both tuition fees and hostel accommodation.

Each student is matched with a mentor, someone they can rely on for regular guidance and emotional support throughout their academic journey. This close mentorship helps them stay motivated and focused as they navigate new environments.

At present, 135 students are being supported through this program. We are especially proud that the first-ever woman graduate from the Aadiyan community is one of our students. Today, that same community also boasts its first reporter — another Vanavil alum. Our scholars are pursuing diverse fields including Fine Arts, Design, Sports Education, Nursing, Biotechnology, and more — making their communities proud and inspiring future generations.

To date, we have helped 286 students pursue their college education. A total of 73 of these students have completed their degrees and some are now employed in various sectors. All of these graduates are the first in their families to attend and complete college.

It’s a small gift from you, a big change for them.
